New series on Radio 4 looking at photography from the 19th century

"Radio 4 looking at"
I've looked at all our radios and cannot find the video socket.
How do we see the pictures they're talking about? :tumbleweed:

I'll bet you can get R4 on it though.

Thanks, I've now listened to all five, and they are really interesting. Not exactly what I was expecting as they are in the style of a radio "Afternoon Story".

I don't think I had heard of Mayall before, and found the story about JMW Turner fascinating. Of the others I had heard of, and knew a bit about. Gardner and Nadar, but there was lots about all the photographers discussed that was totally new to me.

I found the links to the photographs a little disappointing, as not all the photographs discussed were available. But I have the same complaint about Black and White Photography magazine, where they often discuss photographs that aren't illustrated in the article.

Well worth a listen at only 14 minutes a pop, especially for anyone unfamiliar with photography during the era being discussed.
