Had this idea a while back but it didn't really take hold - am about to give it another go....

I attempt to recreate old pictures of uk places and compare to see how the environment has changed.

Quite difficult to figure out what lens focal length was used and get the scene the same - perspective and exact place where the photographer was standing.

Let me know your thoughts - interesting project or no ?

Great idea Alan, I've done a similar thing.
There was a prolific tog in my village taking pictures from early 1900s which I had access to. I found a focal length (in 35mm) of 45mm was most common as this happened to be equivalent to 105mm in 6x9, a popular FL back then.
Rather than just recreate the picture I decided to blend them together too!

What a great idea! Would be great to see it expanded to more towns and cities, perhaps the members on here could help?
