Hi there, I`m new to this. My boyfriend advised me of this site and since I`m having a few problems with my Canon EOS 350D, I would appreciate some help.

When on auto mode (green square), images are clear when using a flash but appear very out of focus and blurry without any flash. I have a Speedlite 420EX which i use for portraits. I prefer taking shots outdoors without flash.

could you post some examples? You'd be better off using the other modes that give you more creative control over your images (not sure what they are designated on the canon though )

Ok Thanks. will try upload 1 that I took yesterday. I didnt have this problem before so camera may need a service. As I take shots quite quickly 1 after the other I prefer to use the cameras auto mode. How do I upload the photo?

I'd suggest you ask your question as a new thread in the 'talk photography' section of the site as it will get more response there.

As mentioned above auto mode should be something you use while learning to use the camera properly and can then decide on the settings for yourself.

Learning the basics will help understand the problem. try this for how the settings affect each other.

I'd guess your problem is slow shutter speeds in low light.
