I was watching an auction on eBay for a
Canon 24-105mm f4.0 L IS USM. The lens went for £528
plus P+P. This was a used lens.
When the auction was over, eBay listed a similar items page.
On here was a UK firm selling the same lens, that had been split from kits. Brand new for £525
And free postage. Knowing that eBay and pay pal charge an arm and a leg to list items, I rang the firm to see what was the cheapest they could do the lens for via a debit card.
No fees at all. The guy on the other end offered it for £505 post paid. Tried to get him down to £500, but he wouldn't budge.
So I bought it, saved over £30 quid and got a brand new one.
Like the old saying. If you don't ask you don't get.
