First half hour in the garden and so far so good. £180 all in from Ffordes and to be honest it looks and works like new.

When I bought the G80 body, I didn't realise that these were often a kit lens, and I possibly paid a wee bit over the odds getting these used separate rather than a combo, still, what's done is done.

Can't wait to take it for a proper walk ( I feel another visit to the churchyard coming on ) Here's a few warm up shots, silly stuff and no edits.

Aperture Priority F8 ISO640 SS1/160

Great stuff.

I hope the lens works well for you Keith.

Thanks Alan mate, I'll need to see if that slight sensor dust shows up, but it was clean as a whistle on this one at F5.6 and full zoom so I don't think it's going to bother many photos, hope I haven't spoken too soon !

Well, that's the test and if contamination doesn't show up then why bother cleaning the sensor?

Personally I'd use that zoom wide open to f5.6 as in FF terms (I always relate things to FF because 35mm film is what I had for decades) that's f8 to f11.2 and I'd rarely use smaller apertures than that.

I had that lens on a g80 and regret selling it .super all round performer .. and I always keep a keen eye on prices so you will be happy to know that you got it at a good price
