Yes
Well i have been out of work since end feb, and when i found out that i was to be made redundant i asked my uncle if i could work with him, but at the time he was too busy. Ive just spent the past week on holiday(being his slave lol) up in scotland with him and my auntie and disscused it and he has told me he wants me up there, its now up to me. my problem is its a big move from nuneaton - warwickshire up to arbroath - angus, and suffering with anxiaty since i was young means although im 99% sure i want to go i just cant get that last 1%, the best thing about it is the job role, my uncle, is a falconer, using birds for pest control and displays. basically i want to know what you guys would do, take the risk or keep looking for work where you currently live.

p.s. i know its sounds abit stupid but i just want diffrent opinions from people i dont know, as everyone i do know has said yes do it.

sorry its a link but i dont have flicker/photobucket and this is only way i know to show what the jobs about

I would say, go for it. What have you got to lose. And, it sounds like a fantastic job. Go and enjoy it. If it doesn't work out you are no worse off.

I'd love to work with birds of prey - go for it!

There's a beautiful Saker at the local bird of prey centre I keep trying to steal but they won't let me :(

thanks guys, no matter what im geting a bird of my own :). just a thought if i can pursuade my uncle that is, would people be intrested in having a photography day with the birds, where you can handle the birds then get some of them flying for you to, hopefully, get photos of, obviously there would be a charge for this, but it would be a full day thing

well its the movin away from home that i have a worry about , but i think movin up there would be good for me, hmm i think i should do it

wow what an oppotunity, its difficult getting a job as it is, nevermind one you will love, go for it. i wish you all the very best

Go for it and never look back! If you dont do it, you will only spend the rest of your life wondering 'what if'.
Sure you'l be home sick after a couple of weeks. But at least you are with family and doing something you enjoy. Best time of year to be going too.
Get on that phone and tell him you're on your way. ;)

Kev.

The worst that could happen is you try it and move home, what a chance to work with gorgeous animals that love their work, amazing photographic subjects and a few TP members nearby.

I know I would jump at the chance if circumstances meant I was out of work and was able to upsticks - go for it !

I reckon you should go for it, I know I would like a shot.

I can understand why you are a little worried but at the very worst you can just come back, go for it I say. I bet you wont regret it :)

Good Luck!

Go for it... Arbroath is not bad, and if you ever feel the need to be assaulted, murdered, or injected with lethal substances, you could always come to Dundee for a night out with us... :D

 lets do it, do a months trial and if i like it im gona make it permanent.

Seriously, it does sound like a dream job... remember and give it a chance though. Us humans being creatures of habit, it would be all too easy to write it off after just a week or two. :D
