Hi All
I spent most of the last few months of 2010 talking about and dropping hints about a new camera then bingo 3 weeks ago the big man in the red suit came up trumps, I'm now the proud owner of a shiny new Nikon D5000+18-55 vr kit lens......Happy Days.
I've been a keen hill walker for a few years now and have always a bit disappointed in my abilities to capture the fantastic landscapes I've been surrounded by. So I have made a promise to myself to right this wrong.
At the moment I am running around like a dog with two tails clicking at everything.
I'm also spending a lot of time reading, learning and absorbing info here on TP
It looks like a very friendly place and I'm very much looking forward to the journey.

try not to spend too much time reading, get out shooting. thats what I did when I discovered this site.
 
Thanks for the welcome messages much appreciated.
I've always taken pictures with a point and shoot camera as a reminder of the trip, I now want to try and learn how to improve and compose better photographs. I have a couple of books and will read and ask questions on here.
Since getting the new camera I have been shooting a lot to get used to it.
