new flash player update hides controls

I',m geussing flash player has been updated in the last week as when ever i maximise a streamed video from iplayer youtube etc.. it opens its own program like a pop up rather than running it via the site. Problem is its rubbish! All the video controls are hidden behind the bottom bar of the desktop. If i want to pause something i have to close it then pause its a pain. Not only that its not running very smooth either. Anyone else having this problem or have i changed some settings by mistake?

I haven't updated yet, flash and acrobat are a PITA with updates in my opinion.
