New D5100 Owner

Hi my name is Andy and i am no the proud owner of a Nikon D5100 and also new to photography except for various point and shoot cameras throughout the years.

Getting into photography as a new hobby after many years of hobbies that have mainly involved me getting dirty,bashed about and generally filthy like vintage machinery restoration and Old vintage Landrovers,hoping to visit all the shows still but as a photographer rather then exhibitor.
I also live in a lovely area with plenty of river walks and good Suffolk skys
This seems to be a very busy forum with plenty of activity,so know off to spend the next few evenings reading through the posts

it's hugely active and there's loads of information already about
also nearly every question is greeted with loads of answers and sometimes a small scuffle about which is the correct answer
don't forget to post some photos when you get a chance.
