New Canon TS-E Lenses

Look very interesting Tom. The 17mm TS-E could be great for architecture or those on cropped sensors, although I note the angle of movement is lower than the new 24

The 17mm looks excellent. The 24 upgrade's been rumoured for a while, be interesting to see the price over here, about £2100 at a guess?

Agreed George....looks very tasty...hmmmm:thinking:

wowie they look appetizing

UK prices?

Both lenses will be available in May and will retail at £2750 for the 17mm lens and £2400 for the 24mm lens.

Jesus....

Oh, for goodness sake!! That really tells you what Canon will be up to in the future. That is more than double the existing 24mm!!

Excuse my ignorance, and I have seen photos on here in the past using tilt shift lenses (to make people look like ants) but what does a tilt shift lens do in laymans terms??

Presumably those are SRPs? Where did you get them from? - they're not on the Canon UK web site yet

The SRP of the EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS is £2240, but even now it retails for about £1400-£1600, ie about two-thirds of SRP. So once these new TS lenses become available in quantity, I'd expect to see them selling for around £1800 and £1600 respectively.

Ouch. Better start talking to the bank manager again.....

Having a read of this will give you a good background into all things tilt-shift.
