Ta for that. I have been getting the "busy" thing when shooting tethered with a USB cable so this update will be handy.

OK - installed it and all running OK. Install is v simple - copy the .fir file to a CF card, stick it in, select the firmware option from the menu and it installs in about 2 mins. No probs.

Today Canon have issued 2 new hardware fix recall actions for 1D3 and 1Ds3:

Thanks for the firmware update link - all sorted in a couple of mins.

I've just had a phone call from Canon (UK). They're collecting on Monday, told me it was a 3 - 4 day turn around. I asked how many to do since the recall and she knew about 200 or so in the last couple of days. Déjà Vu!
