Hello

I have just recived a battery grip for my 30D, it is a 3rd party grip from ebay, put it in and didnt work, i have now put my original battery in and nothing comes up at all... i think the battery grip may have blown something up..

any advise... has this happened to any one...

i have emailed the seller asking for insurance details so i can claim(not holding my breath)

does any one know where i could get this repaired..im in essex

thanks in advance

jamie

Ouch sorry to hear that, but good luck.

oh heck sorry to hear that Jamie, you must be gutted, I read a couple of weeks ago on here TP not to try 3rd party grips, as they could do damage, and unfortunately you have confirmed it, hope you manage to get it sorted, wonder if it might be covered on your home insurance

Dave

that's not a good news, what's the make of that 3rd party battery grip?

...perhaps news too late, I seem to remember reading about a 3rd party grip causing a fire so perhaps it could have been worse, but I am also sorry that you may have a poblem with your camera.

I think that there is a Canon repair center in Colchester, I'm sure thart it advertises in most of the magazines. If you need a number let me know and I'll sort it out for you.

Hope it gets better soon, I can imagine just how gutted you are.

Chris

Thanks for the replys

i THINK it is sorted now.. and i may have been panicing for nothing

i must have done something wrong (dont know what) but it apperas i dicharged the batteries some how..gave a charge and had a fiddle and its all working now (fingers crossed)

i bought this grip because it was the same a my one for my 440d, its a YXTM and now its all working it appears to be ok (£43 deliverd from the UK of ebay)

once again thanks for all the help but i think ive cracked it

cheers

Oh god! you haven't cracked it as well???

:)

No LOL

I think ive cracked it by the means its all ok...

in the sellers defence.. i poss made the mistake... i hadnt pushed the battery all the way in properly.. so i am happy with the purchase and all is working fine..
