looks like Nikon are going to announce something major http://nikonrumors.com/
Looks like its going to be the 7100,i cant see now Nikon replacing the D400,the same as I cant see Canon replacing the 60D.
I think at that price range both are going to stick to full frame![]()

Please, please, please can we have an upgraded D300s with full frame ... a "pro" version of the D600 without all the useless bells and whistles![]()
Please god let it be a D400 so people will stop harping on about it!More likely to be a D7100 though.

Yeah, but so is the d300.
And the d7000!!

Wouldn't that be a D800?
I've come to believe that the D300 was the last of the line. I don't think Nikon will produce another (semi-) pro DX body.
The whole procession since manufacturers advanced into digital SLR has been focused on getting to FX. We're there now and I don't think Nikon see a need to look back.

Steve.
If their rumour is true, then it looks like Nikon have liked what Fuji have been doing.
Why haven't they renamed that site nikonguesses yet?
according to Wikipedia, the D300s has been replaced and is the D600
so...... oh well
Ooh look! I Was rightYay me!!!... actually.. that mirrorless rumour sounded great... this is just an updated 7000.
Gordon Laing, at Cameralabs, says the 7100 isn't being touted to him as a replacement to the 7000, and that Nikon say the 7000 will remain in production. But then, the D90 ran concurrently with the D7000 for quite a while, too.
Unless it is a lot cheaper than the D7000, why would you not buy the D7100?
