Has anyone else had any problems upgrading any older phones to the new 4.4 Kit Kat update from 4.3 Jellybean? I upgraded my old Sony Xperia Z about two weeks ago when I got sent the update and ever since the battery has been draining faster than it's been able to charge, even plugged into the mains. I've tried all the temporary "solutions" to sort it until a new update is released in JULY
but it's still not working. It has gotten to the point now where the phone won't turn on even when plugged in and I won't be able to do the update even when they do release it because I can't get the Xpera Z to over 50% battery life. So basically the new update has rendered my spare phone useless and looks like I will have to pay for it to get sent away to SONY for repair.
Apparently the problem is down to google play services or something like that, but you can't uninstall it completely from the xperia otherwise it would be ok.
If anyone gets an update to the new Kit Kat 4.4 and hasn't done it yet...DON'T. There's pages and pages of complaints about the new update and i'm unsure what other phones or devices are getting effected with this crap.
Thanks Android...tossers.
