New 450D

Went to Lincoln and got a Canon 450D,felt the weight of the 40D,i would not like to carry that around all day.

what would you buy if you had the choice
1) Canon 35mm f2
2)Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 or
3)Tamron 17-50 F2.8 Please aadvise because i really amlooking for a 35mm
lens,do i go for a prime or zoom

Prime will (usually) be better image quality, but a zoom is (usually) more practical.
I would go for the 17-50 f/2.8.

If I had to do primes, it would be a 20mm prime, a 30mm prime and a 50mm prime.
