Took 6 shots to test and I'm well impressed Now it's back in the box and being shipped out for the IR filter swap Was gonna do it myself but bottled out Looking forward to getting it back
Very nice Steve. I'll be looking forward to your Ha images. As to bottling it, I can understand that . It's a lot of money to have spent on the 450d only to fry the electronics during dismantlement to get at the IR filter.

Thanks John
I decided to dedicate it to Astro stuff, keep the 50D for general daytime stuff and if I dare will mod the 30D for dedicated IR The 450D is going to Astronomiser for the mod
Hi and welcome to the forum
THe mod involves removing the IR cut filter from the sensor to make it more sensative to Hydrogen Alpha (HA) and replacing it with a filter that allows HA but still blocks most IR and UV light and basically ruins the guarantee and throws out the colour balance for daytime photography although with a dedicated white balance will allow it to be used for conventional photography, but I will be keeping this for Astro shots only
Steve, where are you getting this done as I was thinking of getting the 350d converted for IR some when next year. Opps just noticed you have said already
