New 1Dx announced by Canon

not sure if its the same body your all on about but warehouse express taking orders on the eos 1d x 5299.00

I wish Canon didn't have this separate 12 and 14fps thing.

Not against a 1dMkIV mp count against a D3s mp count...I thought I wrote that, ah well.
Ah my bad, apologies, well i came from a 16MP MKIV to a 12MP D3S and never once noticed the difference other than the reach the crop gave me so i bought a 400mm, ive printed both quite happily at A3 and the D3s has been used to print life size player cut outs, ive also seen some of my stuff on the back of a bus.

Do you mean £4999 at the point it is actually available for purchase Gary?

It's at £5299 now which is just a get your orders in and we'll see what the demand is like price.

So it wouldn't take much to drop it to the £4999 price.

i thought they would pitch it at an opening price of £4,999 so £5,299 is worse than i expected, i think in a year or so it'll settle round the £4,500 mark thats if its even available over here in a years time.

Next couple of weeks would be an ideal time for Nikon to chime in with the D4, D400 and D800

Nikonrumours suggesting Nikon wont announce until the New Year but should have the D4 (or whatever it's moniker is) out at roughly the same time (i.e. pre London 2012).

Thats the one, but they are knocking you a fiver off an 8GB CF card.

I saw that yesterday and PMSL. A whole fiver WOW. I wanted to email them and ask them how much video at 1080 can I get on an 8Gb card...

Or even present one.

Titter titter (that means laugh laugh and has nothing to do with her anatomy).

14fps will actually be very useful for the situations where you need to get the ball on a head or foot. Numerous times even at 10fps the movement is too fast to get the ideal position of the ball however hard you try, especially for powerful headers. An extra few frames gives you the edge and avoid the ball being too far from the action and therefore increase chances of your picture being published.

Tobers the 14fps is OK unless you need to track.

14fps only available in one shot mode, not great if someone running in for a header as you shoot in AI Servo mode

Ah b****r. I'll stick with my M9 then :-)

Hmm, it's at least twice as fast as that.

Anyway, never mind the speed, feel the quality.
