Elective c-sec in < 36 hours......

sharon372800.jpg

:eek::eek::eek:

Am really excited about finding out what "versions" we have....

Am really nervous about the c-sec - I know it's a standard thing and has been done for millenia, but you cannot help but worry

And really apprehensive about suddenly having to be accountable and responsible...:lol::lol:

A complete bundle of emotions... but the worst one is only allowed a P&S in the Op Theatre. That sucks!

Yeah, that's the bit that really hurts!

Hope it all goes well and I'm sure you'll soon get the hang of the Dad thing (to qualify that, soon as in geological context)

But they're supplying adequate studio lights, aren't they? :p

Every best wish to Sharon! :D

Don't worry. Everything will be all right. And when those babes are put in your arms...well for me it changed me a little. Nothing is more important than my children, I know that sounds normal, but it's that feeling you get when they arrive. S'pose I'm not clever enough to discribe it really.

Best of luck mate not that you both need it all will be fine and the little ones will have all the right bits for norfolk :naughty:

Look forward to wetting those little heads

Yep the scans show webbing so will be training them up for the 2028 olympics...

I did ask them if i could have a look in the op theatre and work out where to put the softboxes....and a few test shots.. they told me to go away (only joking)

I am sure you are clever enough, but I kid of already know what you mean....

I think the door distracts you from the subject, could maybe do with a little sharpening in places and is maybe a little soft.....oops wrong c-section :)

Good luck, I'm sure everything will be just fine :)

Whatever you do, don't think about that scene in Alien if you're allowed in the operating theatre ;)

Never mind that, straighten that bl**y picture! :nono:

(Best of luck to all four of you Lynton, I'm sure you'll be in excellent hands)

Our surgeon turned to us as she was poised over the wifes belly with a knife and said "Right, are you ready to be parents?" before she made the first cut....
Its a different feeling with a C-section, theres no build up of labour, just the giddiness that you will have your baby in 15 minutes from getting the gowns on!
Good luck, and keep the running commentary going for your missus, as she wont be able to see anything!

Good luck. If you get girl versions time to save for weddings for them! That's the joy I have to look forwards to with mine due in February!.

I've been through 2 c-sections with my misses now. They surgical team at the N&N are excellent (I assume that's where you are going)

As for the camera, I took my DSLR in with me with kit lens on. Oh and if no one has told you, you can take a music cd in for ya misses to help keep her calm, gives her something to concentrate on.

Good luck with it all.

I just hope the mid-wife slaps the babies arse and not you :p

Best wishes to you both. And of course the
impending additions to your family

Many thanks oh pink one! :notworthy::notworthy::notworthy:

It will go OK. Enjoy the experience.

I was lectured by a nurse/assistant after I put on my greens..."You will sit here, keep your mouth shut and hold your wife's hand and comfort her. You will not move an inch from this stall, and if you cry, faint or crap yourself, tough luck, no interest will be given to you. If you move, or get too emotional you will have to leave the theatre".
After the (C-Section) birth of my daughter, the same nurse ignored my wife, came up to me and said..."Mr Paul, you have a beautiful daughter. I hear that you are a Publican, this time last week we had another Publican, Melvyn Hayes who also had a daughter."..blah blah blah. Couldn't have been nicer, but thought afterwards she just wanted to mention she was involved with a celebrity's baby.

Oh, and if the missus get pregnant again you can book for a C-Section for when it's due, so you know when to take the time off from work. ;)

good luck to you both and enjoy. From the point of few of a mum who was at a birth via c-sec, it is scary but no where near as bad as i thought it was going to be. you will be doing the first nappy change good luck with that. enjoy every min of it and get lots of pictures.

Fully expecting the lecture, though I am not fussed by blood / gore so do not expect to feint... I *do* like the style in which you were told though...

Many thanks. I hear the first nappy changes are not pleasant... :gag:

have you got names sorted ?

Maybe he'll do the same as his parents and name at least one of them after the place where they were conceived? At least, thats how I'm guessing he ended up called Lynton! (It's certainly how a friend of mine at school ended up as Kenton, another village in Devon!) and of course, how the Beckhams name theirs, after the borough in NYC, the back seat of an Alfa..., ? Harper's Ferry and of course a liner!

Best wishes to all concerned and please don't post any photos of the cutting!

They are not that bad, if interesting in colour -anyone for pesto? Now once they get onto solids :gag:

Samuel George Kerridge Smith arrived 9.54am weighing in at 5lb 13oz

Amelia Laura Grace Smith made her grand entrance at 9.57am weighing 5lb 10oz.

Both babies are doing fine. Mum has had a few minor complications but nothing too serious. I'll update later tonight with maybe a picture.

(and no I was not conceived in Lynton)
