A relative is about to take a long drive, Scotland to Greece. Young grandson has a netbook (not sure of the make) which might alleviate some of his boredom by playing some games on it, also maybe watching a movie or two.

Is there any devices which the netbook charger can plug into some sort of convertor and get charged via the car's 12v cigarette lighter socket ? Obviously while the car is on the move

Cheers

Should be but power requirements and fittings will vary - maybe a Google search for something specific to the exact netbook?

As weight is not an issue get a 12v to 240V car inverter (also called a converter).

They come in different wattage ratings. More power = more cost but buy one generously over whatever rating you need so its not running on the limit.

prices will likely range from £15 to £30 for the size you need.

Thanks for the info chaps, you've made a wee 8yr old guy happy.
