Does anyone know how I can open a NEF file in cs3 please

adobe bridge, or what i do is when cs3 is open click on the "file" then "browse" then that will open bridge and from there you can see nef.

If you double click on the raw file photoshop should try to open, or right click and select open with photoshop. If your getting a photoshop can't open this document type message you will probably need the latest version of camera raw (4.6 I think it is for Cs3) you can download this free from adobes site, follow the instructions to install. DONT try to install 5.0 or 5.1 they are for Cs4 only

Manual installation on Windows®:

1. Exit Photoshop CS3 and Adobe Bridge.
2. Open My Computer.
3. Double-click Local Disk (C: ).
4. Navigate to: (Please read directory carefully)

Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CS3\File Formats

5. Move the existing Camera Raw.8bi plug-in to another location (for example, a new folder on your desktop). Ensure you keep this version in case you need to revert back.
6. Copy the Camera Raw plug-in, Camera Raw.8bi, from the download into the same folder as Step 4.
7. Launch Photoshop CS3 or Adobe Bridge.

The easyest way to get updates for CS3 is to Just click the Help tab on the top right hand side of the CS3 window and pick 'Update' and CS3 will sort it out for you, including all the application updates as well.
