Here I am currently on a trip to North Uist. Lovely island and fantastic wildlife all around. I'm staying in a cottage adjoining the RSPB Balranald reserve which I pay a visit every day. Today I take a wonder the other way along the beach to that of the route I usually take. I find otter prints in the exact area as last year so its worth watching.
Just a few meters from the otter tracks I come across 5 dead Ravens. These were stating to decay and something like this isn't a natural thing as you expect. I believe more searching would possibly have found more...these have likely been shot or eaten poisoned bait. The otter may ave even eaten a bit as its known they will eat birds if given the chance.. So why would anyone kill Ravens( if they were the intended victims)? And why would anyone dump them at possibly the busiest area on the island--- madness and very sickening....
