needing help with nikon d40 battery / charger

hiya
put my battery on charge ,didnt take long to charge, then was showing low battery on camera, put back onto charge no light is on the charger,left it on for a while though but no luck,
any advise appreciated, camera only a year and a bit old,

My charger went like that, couldn't figure out why, ended up getting one
off e-bay for a tenner, it just had a sticker over the Nikon logo...

well I'd get the battery first then if it turns out to be the charger the battery can be spare. I have 3 batteries for my D40x and 2 for my D300. Spare batteries are a godsend.

Also, if you know anyone with the same camera, you can always try their battery or charger first.

Thats true, although i do have a spare battey that i tried.

Plus i used a variable power supply set to 7.4v on the battery and watched
the ma drop off as the battery charged, so i knew it wasnt the battery.

Not the most ideal way i know but it did work and i managed to get some
charge into the batteries till the new charger arrived

ordered a charger, car charger and spare battery from ebay, and youll never guess what .......its now working "i cant believe it " lol oh never mind at least i have some spare now
