I need to get hold of 4-5 short male to male pc cords. To go from my cactus triggers to my flashes.

I have an SB-600 so would need some sort of PC accepting hotshoe? also, the other flashes accept a pc connection.

I'm looking at mounting these flashes on lighting stands with umbrella adapters. Do the adapters come with a hotshoe/cold shoe fitting to sit the flashes in? Or are these seperate?

So the next things are umbrella swivel adapters? Don't want to pay a fortune for manfrotto ones but want something with lots of angles and it must not be flimsy.

Hotshoe/coldshoe's if required (as above)

Light stands I think I will go with something like these

Lastly I would like to some shoot through umbrellas, ideally around 42" > with removable black covers.

Any advice appreciated. As you can see the only thing I have really settled on is the light stand, and I happy for advice on those too.

I have those stands. They are very good. Going to be ordering a few more next month.

As to PC cords... i got mine off fleaby for about £1.50!! I will try and find the supplier for you.

I have the same Konig stands. I noticed yesterday that Maplins have some 20kg load stands reduced to £14.99.
 
You don't mention what camera body you're using, but I was wondering if you can't use the flash without the chords (in remote)?
 
I'm using a D80 and have used cls with the sb600. I want to be able to trigger all of them off camera at range really. Thanks for the info so far. Umbrellas still seems to be an issue, size and with a removable cover are few and far between

As far as umbrella swivels go, get the Calumet copies of the Manfrotto - they're every bit as good, cheaper and come with a spigot, which is extra with the Manfrotto ones.

If you don't have a Calumet store nearby then check their website as they often do free shipping deals.
 
thanks, added to the list. Is there such a thing as a tripod to umbrella bracket adapter. I.e. to connect the ones above to tripods? I have a couple of spare tripods I could then use aswell. Is this the sort of thing I would need?
