Hello everyone,

Am new to wedding photography. The problem is in my country most wedding celebrations are receptions in low light place. need some techniques as motion blur is killing everything and i ca't use a tripod.

thanks everyone :)

More information needed. What kit are you using now?

The bottom line is you need better technique and more shutter speed so either buy a camera with better high iso performance and/ or use a monopod.

Do you have example pictures worth exif intact?

If you can't use flash, then you need a lens with a low f/number (eg your 50 1.8) and then raise the ISO as high as you dare. That will give you the fastest shutter speed possible.

Only other thing you can do is get a camera with higher ISO capability, basically full frame, ie a 5D2.

You could get an image stabilised lens, and that will help reduce blurring from camera shake, but won't help at all with any subject movement. Also, there aren't any IS lenses that go lower than f/2.8, so you'd be losing out there compared to your 50mm.
