My trusty Lowepro slingshot 100 AW is starting to seem a little small. I was thinking of getting the 300AW as i quite like the slingshot design. But then, i have no experience with more normal bag designs.
So, this is just a general, "what type of bag do you recommend?" thread :)

I just spent 2 weeks using the 300 in the desert, mountains and around town and have foundd it to be the best of my small collection for ease of use / access.

I also have the Tamrac Expo 7 for hiking, etc and the Lowepro Orion for - well, never. Cant remembe rwhen i last used it........ . Finally, the Lowepro Nova 5 used to be excellent for one body, several lenses and airports!.

Just to flesh this out a little, the Nova 5 can take one body and 4 lenses.

The Tamrac 2 bodies - one with up to 300mm lens attached and 3 extra lenses and a tripod.

The 300 can take 2 bodies - one with 70-200 attached and 3 lenses. I managed to cram in the 1ds, the 5d, the 70-200 2.8, the 24-105, the 50mm, the 1.4x TC and the 12-24mm with room left for a photo viewer and the usual air blowers, lens fluid, cloths, etc. All very worth it at jessops £39 madness recently!!

Well I mainly go for two makes at the moment.

For something a little different and vaguely stylish that doesn't scream 'CAMERAS HERE! NICK ME!' Crumpler are good and popular. Shoulder bags and backpacks both with or without space for laptops available.

http://www.ephotozineshop.com/?/photo/crumpler/intro.html for the sensible look at them.
(Slightly more bonkers site here http://www.crumpler.co.uk/2.0/site.html)

My other favourite is Kata bags. These are very good indeed, and replace my Crumplers when I'm being a little more practical and don't need to match accessories with my outfit.

Here's Warehouse Express Kata bag chooser as well. :D

The only thing I should say is that the number of lenses that it shows can fit in a R103 backpack is a little optimistic in my opinion. You may need to consider that when choosing one of these. Otherwise they are top notch baggies indeedie.

Love my slingshot bag, and now have the 300 it is great. :)

Had a slingshot 200 and loved it but was getting tight wth all my gear. I've now upgraded to the 300 and have ons of space to buy more lens :) Only thing i don't like is that you can only carry it one way (slung across your body) as the handle at the top doesn't help much for just carrying it if you don't fancy slingying it across your body.

You can just carry it over your left shoulder.............

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but are there any good rucksack/camera bags out there. Ie ones with about a 50/50 split of a normal rucksack for food/clothes etc and space for 1 body and say 4-5 lenses+ filters etc. At the moment I find myself taking my big Lowepro rucksack out which has two compartments, and stowing my AW100 in the bottom compartment with my clothes and food in the top compartment. It also could do with somewhere to properly fasten my tripod to as well.

Take a look at the Crumpler Warm shower. I've just got one of these (going on holiday, and I like the half and half idea).
Got mine from http://www.we-sell-crumpler.co.uk - excellent service and price.

The Warm Shower is the smallest of a set of three. The other 2 being Royal Court and Opulent Rooster

Take a look at the Kata and Tamrac websites as both do great half and halfs......

I'm looking at the Lowepro Rover AW at the moment for taking on holiday this year where I need dual purpose bag - a camera bag and a bag for the dross for the flight. These are £71 online and can be used in various combinations either camera bag + rucksack, camera bag only or rucksack only. If anyone has one of these I'd be interested to hear your opinions?

Having had a quick look round, I think the Tamrac Adventure 9 or the Lowepro CompuRover AW would suit me best.:)

I just got the Lowepro dryzone 200

http://www.warehouseexpress.com/?/photo/lowepro/dryzone.html

Its rather large, and has to compartments. Of which has a double skin with twin zips that allows the main camera compartment fully submersible in water. From what i was told and the apperance the other compartemnt is weather sealed.

just put my 70-200mm f2.8 with the 30d fitted it looks rather lost lol. There is currently 8 lens compartments. Its biggen enough to hold the 70-200, with both the 1.4 plus 2xtc fitted, with should mean i could get the 400mm and the 70-200mm in it with 4 lens compartemts free.

On the flap of the compartment there a mesh pouch thats currently got my water proof camera covers, trousers, hat and could fit my 17inch laptop.

The second compartment has a number off zipped mesh compartments, handy for battery's, filters, memory cards, and storage for other large items cloths food etc.

on the outside it has 2 futher mesh pockets and a tri-/monopod attachment.

Other features adjustable harness, and very well padded. Shall packet fully tomorrow for a proper review, with pics.
