Need help with why i cant see some hosted pics

Webspace and domain - tick
Folder with pics FTP'd up to webspace - tick

Try to link to pic and get an ad filled webpage (http://www.dichrom.at/Photos/Brighton-5.jpg)... hmmm?

Any ideas what im doing wrong? This method worked fine with my previous webhost.

Rubbish host. Looks like they do not allow direct linking to images and are simply redirecting the request.

If you are paying for the hosting, I would contact them to find out what's going on.
If they are a free host, this is how they make their money and I would suggest moving to a paid host such as TSO Host. You can get a basic hosting package for £3/month.

Of course if you just need a place to store your image and link to them, then why not setup a free drop box account.

Thanks for the advice - i am waiting for a reply from 1and1. I'm pretty sure it's a technical issue as when i move the pic to a folder within my Wordpress installation folder it works - http://www.dichrom.at/pics/Brighton-7.jpg

Could it be something to do with the "domain destination"?

Sorted. It was to do with where the domain was pointing to. For anyone with a similar problem in the future you can point your domain into the root folder and create an index.php which will redirect your domain where you like it - in my case, my WP blog.

I also needed to create an .htaccess file for the Photos folder.
