Hi, i've got a canon 1ds mk2 and a 1d mk2 and i need a wide angle lens as im going to do my mates wedding next month
I was going to get the sigma 10-20mm but saw couple threads and wasn't sure if it would fit my camera.

What would you recommend me to get?
Any advice would help

Thank You

It's a Sigma APS-C lens so unlike Canon's EF-S mount it will actually mount on your camera but will not cover the whole sensor. How much it'll cover I don't know.

If you're going for a zoom there's the full frame Sigma 12-24mm (I have one and it's lovely) and the Canon offerings which I'm pretty sure you'll already know about... 16-35mm, 17-40mm...

If you want to keep the expenditure down there's the older Canon 20-35mm. Some say that it distorts a lot but I've no real complaints. The Cosina 19-35mm is cheap and has it's fans and I've seen some very nice shots from that cheap lens.

Depends how wide you want to go. You have a a 1Ds full frame and 1D crop sensor camera's. What lenses do you have already?

As for wide angle for a full frame, I would look at some prime lenses like the 24mm f1.4 or 35mm f1.4

The 16-35mm f2.8 (expensive) or 17-40mm f4 are other options

The 24-70mm f2.8 and 70-200mm f2.8 IS MKII are a very good combination for weddings

The EF-S or equivalent 3rd party lenses won't fit on either of your camera bodies.

Personally I would look at hiring the lenses, www.lensesforhire.co.uk

Or there's the very interesting but very expensive Canon 8-15mm L, though it's in fish eye territory! Just another FF option in case you wanted maximum wideness!
