I have a shoot lined up in a models house , will be lingerie non nudity shoot

I am very much a light manipulator and I love creating shadows in the right places , but my understanding is glamour doesn't really have shadows

what lighting setup would you use

I have 2 studio lights available tools I have are

1 x softbox
1 x unbrella
1 x can
1 x beauty dish

1 x speedlight flash with remote sync capabilty

My thoughts would be

key light set from the models face angled down the body with unbrella

then softbox at a positioned angle to remove the shadows but half a stop to 1 stop less than the key light...

and if it needs it use the speedlight to rear light on a really low setting to create seperation

thoughts would be greatly appreciated

shoot it with the shadows you like, they hired you / asked you to do it because they like the style of your work ;)

I guess so , but I wouldn't be able to get published work if I never conform...

swings and round abouts

and its a TFCD shoot for our ports so no monies involved

v true, but why did she choose you over the others for the tfp (or say ok to you). She has to like your work :D

Are you going for the gritty glamour or the soft glamour look?

for gritty Jason Cole wrote a tutorial involving two lights one on each side

for the softer look remember lots of fill, maybe even a massive softbox behind the camera

It depends though, who says glamour does not have shadows? Who makes these rules?

If all you ever do is conform to a stereotype you will end up just churning out derivative photography.

For a lingerie shoot I'd be far more inclined to go down the boudoir route. It is also a lot easier to shoot, all you need are a few props and one light. :)

well I am more a fashion Art Nude photographer at the moment , but I am trying to get as much pratice as possible

its a local model who shoots from home , decor is very nice and great for glamour..

I will see what My suroundings are and will see whether there is any where at hers that can be used for art nude .. but I am not sure an home shoot for my style of fashion will work so I don't want to be limited hence trying to find my own style of glamour.....

problem is I am very much learn the rules before I break then if you get what I mean

definitely with you on that one

lovely images, hideous flash site :D (my site is terrible too so don't be disheartened)

whats wrong with it lol

your the first person that said it was hideous...

if you mean that the fact it is flash then , its the easiest way to stop images being taken from the site (minus a screen shot of course)

if you mean you don't like the design , i'll take on bored but your the first to of said it

lol. you know what you are doing, some cracking images on your site already. I can understand if you are not used to shooting outside a studio it seems like a very uncontrolled environment but there is a lot you can do in a relatively small space.

While you may struggle for full length shots in a domestic environment there are bound to be lots of opportunites around. You can shoot on a floor just by putting down a beadspread and a few cushions, add one light with a softbox and off you go.

I love challenges like these :)

if clients like it then thats the important thing, I have too much stuff on my screen and it doesn't resize well at all, also the wix thing looks a bit dodge

well its on weds , so I will surely update you...

I moved away from glamour in the studio so much cause I was bored of it, I took some tutiton for a day with a guy and made my work 100 times better .... much cheaper and quicker than going to college and because I am a semi pro ... not a pro (not my main income) then i don't have any real need to do long winded courses

hahaha yeah its a free site builder , as I don't use photography as my main income then I tend not to spend much money on it..

and I don't really have time to build myself a website from scratch.

seems fair, I run wordpress and haven't found the right theme yet, mine is great for a blog but hides my best images and I have no control over its crops :s On the hunt for a better one
