A friend of mine has recently just had a wedding album printed by Loxley. They delivered him another couples wedding under the name of "Susan & Fraser".

As a long shot has anybody from here photographed such a couple recently or know anybody who has?

Loxley are reprinting his album and I'm assuming will send the correct photos to the other photographer. They've advised him just to scrap them but he'd like to trace them and potentially swap the 2nd copies.

Is the venue obvious ?

Might be worth trying them (especially if you have a date) because the venue may know which photographer was working with the couple - or will have a contact for the couple who will be able to advise (your friend doesn't have to tell them why you want to have the photographers contact details).

What should be happening here is Loxley should be taking care of their mistake....

...... and not telling the OP to just scrap it

Loxley are taking care of the mistake - they are reprinting the albums and sending them out correctly. They are also not requiring the albums to be sent back (at the photographers cost).

Can't think that they could be doing any more to rectify this.

Sounds like the OPs friend is just trying to sort themselves out with a free sample album, or an opportunity to sell the couple a second album (parents etc), if they are able to do the swap.

No Loxley are not taking care of the mistake

Loxley should have arranged for collection of the album at their cost.

They certainly should not have left it with the OP and told them to just scrap it.

Why? what would that achieve that simply reprinting for the correct couple will not?

For me it is best business practice

If I were the couple in question I would be angry and expect the photographer to make sure the album was recovered.

If I were the photographer I would be angry and expect the album to be recovered

This is a service that Loxley have been paid to provide, it is someone's personal pictures and they have a responsibility to the photographer and their clients to keep that data safe.

If they muck up, as they have done in this case, then they should do everything in their power to rectify that and that would include recovering the album they sent out by mistake, as I said for me that would be best business practice.

Any company that makes a mistake like that and then just says oh heck well just print another and not make any attempt to recover the one they sent out by mistake is not a company I would want to be dealing with.

Nor would I deal with a photographer who felt that was OK also

The photos have been sent to 'professionals' maybe if this was your everyday photos from a supermarket it would be different!
