Need Help-Taking photos/videos of TV screen

I have a Sumsung WB 15OF. I have an old tape I need to capture an image from. But keep getting Moire and other things ruining the shot(too bright-fuzzy). What is the best settings for this please? I've tried the video setting but that's pretty bad.

I am just starting out even though my camera is pretty old.

That's Buck Rogers mate, but thanks. My TV is oooold even for a LCD.
 
You plug it into the video player output, not the TV - imagine it as a virtual tv - doesn’t matter what the display is - you’ll be able capture the video directly - it’s about as good as you’ll get it. I did this a few years ago and I was pleased with the output.
