Need help on a photo shoot

A friend of mine has asked if i would take phots of his son's football team's presentation night......

1.A full lenth photo.......4.3 would this be ok at this size 14.42mm? or 45.200mm?
2.A half body photo.....4.3 would this be ok at this size 14.42mm? or 45.200mm?
3.A group photo with all the lads who got a trophy....should i use my wide angle lens for this or just put the setting to 16.9

I am looking for some advice on which lens i should ues
14-42mm? or the 45-200mm? and it will be inside i have an external flash Metz 44 af..or would the built in flash be ok
and also he want's me to print the photos aswell 2 sizes 8x6..10x8...
the reason why he asked me is that the guy that was supossed to be doing it has let him down and it is on sat/day night

what do you mean by 4.3 and 16.9?

in answer to the questions, i'd say;

1. 45-200
2. 45-200
3. 14-42

i'd use the external flash and bounce it from the ceiling... do a few test shots to see which direction (with the flash head) works best and away you go.

disclaimer: not sure on the crop factor for a G2, so it may be that the 14-42 will be ok for all the shots :shrug:

i'm sure someone will come along with more experience with your camera

what do you mean by 4.3 and 16.9?

I think hes talking about proportions - some cameras can crop in body to different image shapes ie 4:3, 3:2 etc - though personally i'd advise keeping it on its full sensor size and doing your cropping manually in post prod

Take both lenses and the external flash - its not as if a G2 and a couple of lenses are exactly huge or heavy after all. Problem is with recommending lenses is you dont know how much space you'll have or how big a room you are in. You'll definitely need the kit lens for a group shot i'd say - after all the G2's a 2x crop sensor isn't it? Fit the kit lens, put the zoom in your pocket, and the external flash on the hotshoe ready to roll.

cheers lads going down to the place where it is taking place on monday night to get a look at the size and the lighting etc....and take a few photos...got mixed up aswell it's next saturday so this will give me time thanks again.
