Hi all,
I have been on the forum for a few weeks now and loving it.
My first 365 is also going well.

To the point:
A friend of mine is selling his Nikon D50 with a 18-55mm Nikon Lens. He has only had it for 2 months and his partner has got him a D70s for his birthday.

He has asked for £260 as new....

Up till now I have been using a Kodak P880.

Any good? Worth the price? Will I want to upgrade again in a few months?

Any advice would be great....

The D50 is a good camera and you'll love it.

To be honest £260 seems a bit steep, I've just checked on eBay and it seems that the majority are going for about £200. At the price your friend is offering you others have got a spare battery, camera bag and a second lens 55-200 or 70-300 included in the deal.

As for whether you'll want to upgrade in a few months almost certainly, that's what Nikon's marketing men want ;) but in the mean time you get a buy in to a great camera system and as it has the AF motor drive can use the nifty fifty with no probs I think you could do far worse.

you could always go for a canon 400d and with the canon cashback at the moment you can probably pick one up brand new for around £315(tesco) , or there is always the canon 350d which you could probably get for around £200-250

i would reccomend them both for starters , just depends if you are a nikon or canon man
