Hi Everyone.

I'm going to Crufts Dog Show in a couple of weeks to show my dog and while there will doing some photography.

I used my Canon 70-200 f2.8 IS last year but Ive since purchased a canon 50mm f1.4.

The lighting and green carpets in Crufts cause every thing to have a yellow cast.

My Question is which lens would produce the best for Crufts.

Most of my shots will be dogs posed and with no reach complications.

Cheers

Post some links to last years so we know what to expect?

Tungsten lights (presumably) will give an orange colour cast, can adjust white balance to suit either when shooting, or can be corrected afterwards if you shoot in RAW.

If the 70-200 worked well last year, then why would it not work just as well this year? The 50 f/1.4 will give you the ability to shoot dogs closer to you, and the ability to maintain a higher shutter speed if the light is gloomy - were they problems for you last year?

As andrewc says, the colour cast is a white balance issue which can easiy be corrected in the camera or in post-processing if you shoot RAW. It's not affected by which lens you use.
