Need a ring flash for a Canon 40D - Any recommendations?

Can anyone recommend a decent ring flash suitable for doing portraits?

I thought the Ray Flash looked like a good idea if a little cumbersome but I wasn't expecting the $300 price tag for something that just points the light in a different direction, I bet they're getting that made in China for $20

I've been looking at one of these. They are an ok alternative to a proper ring flash which is mega bucks

I understand there is a cheaper version on the horizon made by Cactus (makers of the ebay flash triggers)

The Maurmi looks like a cheaper option. Even seems to have ETTL as well ( according to the blurb)

Park cameras seem to be doing them for about £100
