Went snowboarding in December and smashed up my missus' beloved Sony Cybershot W19. Was a great camera but as far as a compact for boarding goes, I want a lot more control for getting print-quality shots without having to take my D200 out all the time.
I've seen the results of the Canon G9 and G10 in the flesh and they're impressive. Plus, i like the control system and the fact you can shoot RAW, which is pretty important.
I know Nikon's P6000 (??) is supposed to be equally good and is cheaper I think. I have read the reviews on www.dpreview.com and all these three get good write-up, even if they're not 100 per cent perfect.
What are the options out there?
Not sure if I can afford nigh-on 400 for a G10 and even £340 for a G9 (of ebay) is a bit too much. Are there any for more like £200-250 wit similar build quality, features, manual control and RAW capture?
Don't really know anything about compacts so any help would be most welcome
