Hi i'm a photography student.

I currently own a Nikon F80 for my film work with a standard nikkor 28-100mm lens and a tamron 90mm macro lens.

I'm looking for a digital SLR that perhaps this forums reccomends, preferablly I would like my tamron lens to fit to it, and maybe my standard nikkor lens.

Canon, Nikon, Pentax? I have no idea :)

Many thanks for your help much apreciated.

I just sold my 450D was a great beginner camera, the 1000d is still ample but I outgrew my 450D in 6 months ..

depends on what you are going to be using it for,

I need quick changes fast fps and great cropping capabilities ... go through threads and look what you need it for then guage that on what to buy,

if you already have a nikon I would say get another one ... stick with what your used to...

I am Canon all the way :-)

You will get a nice 2nd hand Nikon D200 for that, will be able to use both your current lenses and is a much better option than the cheaper consumer grade models available!

am i being dence here but the OP said his tamron lens with i take he is using on his nikon..so would that fit on any of the Canon's mentioned here.

also if you can get a D90 for that money can you point in the right direction need one for hubby.

Or Fuji S5 Pro keeps you with the Nikon mount and gets you the extra dynamic range. Although it does lumber you with quirky controls when reviewing shots.

As you are somewhat unsure, I would suggest you go to a shop and play with a few to see which feel right.

As said above don't discount the S5 Pro either. The body is a D200 with different sensor and menus from Fuji.

D200 would be a good bet and would fit your lenses, can't wait to get my hands on mine (bought one from the bay last night, paid Just under £400)
