So I'm looking to shoot headshots both indoor AND outdoor with flash strobes for a very specific crisply lit face look whilst still shooting at between 2.8 f4 so that I get that creamy background bokeh and some fall off from around the ears back etc of the subject. Currently shooting using the canon 85mm 1.8 with Elinchrom BRX 500 flashes and looking therefore at purchasing an ND filter. Lots of contrasting info around on how these effect the image so wondering if anyone had any advice given the info above on which I should be purchasing. A Variable Hoya with up to 10 stops? A Non variable 3 stop?
Any thoughts or help would be hugely appreciated!
