I decided that today I would leave behind all the new fangled ditial technology and go and shoot some film for a change!!
I have some Zeiss Contaflex's all in working order so thought I'd take out the rarest of the bunch for a day at Mid Hants Railway.
Now the downside of this is that I cant put up my photo's immediately, but I thought while I had them all out I'd take a few pics for those of you that are into classic camera's!!
I've loved Contaflex's for many years and my Dad owning one was the inspiration behind buying my own. I did have various other models but thinned down my collection a few years ago.
The rarest and the one I wont sell (unless someone offers really stupid money!!) is a black Contaflex S, one of the very last made. Its near mint condition and full working order including meter. The S and Super BC were the only contaflex's to use a button battery to power the light meter.
Next up is the aforementioned Super BC, again this is a mint copy and in full working order.
Finally as far as my camera's are concerned is a Contaflex Super. Unfortunately in the last year or so the meter has decided to throw a bit of a wobbly and is no longer working properly. Other than that though its mint!!
I have the other two Contaflex additional lenses, the 35mm and 115mm. Again on my mission to find these I only went for the mint copies and as such these are pretty immaculate. Optics are perfect which these days is fairly unusual as these lenses are prone to separation and other defects that come with age!
Uniquely for a 35mm SLR certain camera's in the Contaflex range can accept interchangable backs!! These mean you can change film types mid roll rather than have to wait until you finish off whatever film you had in the camera. I have a couple of these that I can use on any of my three camera's, although I have to admit I've never used them in anger!!
Anyways enough of my waffle... here are a few pics of them for you...
