I wasn't even a member of this site at the beginning of the year, but is been a great learning experience. And, I think I've improved as a tog since I joined, so that's a start anyway.

January - Mali and Festival au Desert. What a place and, well... just awesome. Here's Habib Koite headlining. It was 4am and I was stoned as a skunk when I took this. Not bad considering

February - I'd just acquired a lovely Canon f/4 300mm, so I took it out for a test. Otterspool.

March - The new Unity building in Liverpool had just been completed.

April - Easter and week in Italy at a small town called Cagli. There's a parade every year on Good Friday. It was cold taking this series of pics and I wanted to go home. But worth it. This pic had a comment on flickr from a guy who recognised hi9mself in the crowd.

May - at Martin Mere - another outing for the 300mm

June - Le Mans for the 24 hr race. Some of my race pics have been put up here already, but here's us (well, not me, obviously) at the champagne tent.

July - had a week on Skye, which was lovely. Except my 350D decided it had had enough on day 1. This (apprently elusive orchid) was taken with the Sony DSC-T1 - an excellent P&S.

August - still no DSLR (the 350D being in the garage for repairs), this is another with the Sony - taken at Brouhaha festival in Liverpool

August revisited - I bought a 30D (as a back up, obviously, to the now repaired 350D). This was one of the first outings with the 30D

September - Namibia. Was one of the most amazing places I've ever been to. Its near impossible to pick one photo out of hundreds. This shot of the honey badger is by no means good. But I've wanted to see one in real life for ages. So, for me this was a highlight of the trip.

October - Liverpool Halloween Parade

November - a trip to London. This is the Tate Modern and the exhibit called Shibboleth. Otherwise known as the big crack in the floor. The full story has been posted on here before, and its also on the flickr link. It impressed me more than I thought it would. And another outing for the Sony :)

December - well, it gets 3 pics

Donna Nook - which I did not know about until reading on here - so thanks all for that

A massive thanks to CJ for her help in talking me through some portraits I took and how they could be improved.

And, how could I fail to give a heads up to Bex & Sam for the fun day on Saturday and a toe dip into doing some glamour shots -

Do I have a style? Probably not, but its been interesting getting here.

Thanks all

Nice variety of pics, think I am like you in that I don't think I found a style yet.

I really like the Donna Nook photo. Great work

Im checking your gallery now for Lemans photos.

Edit: Doesnt seem they are in there so ill go searching in the motorsport section.lol

October (Liverpool parade) and December (Donna Nook seal) stand out for me.
Looks like its been a very varied year, even the loss of use of your dslr and being ****faced didnt stop you from taking pictures!
Really, really love everything about the Liverpool parade shot, superb!

Thats a great year in photos. Thanks for sharing it, it's good to get the cream of a year crammed into one thread with a little commentary, it gives a good insight into the person/photographer :)

I'm dead jealous of you getting to the Festival au Desert and doubly so for seeing Tinariwen live............

One of the things I need to do before I die!
