Well, this isn't strictly a photography website in the sense of some of the ones on here, but it does revolve heavily around Photography, History (urbex really) and a little pinch of music...

This is the second design of the website, I scrapped the first design around christmas time as I found I had out grown what it supplied (it was based loosely on a free template), and came up with a new one. I spent a few good few weeks over the summer looking at other peoples photo/design blogs are noted down ideas that I liked and incorporated them into onesthat I already had...this resulted in a lot of piles of paper appearing around my flat

Anyhoo, I don't want to bore you all with describing the website, but compared to the previous incarnation, it includes so much more stuff...

Which can be found here:

The only part of it I am not to pleased with at the moment is the photography section itself (the history section is happily steaming along nicely), which is currently being redesigned as a whole section, not a collection of galleries...

The current galleries look like this:

http://www.thetimechamber.co.uk/photogallery/macro.php

And the idea for the new gallery lokos like this:

Could you have a look and tell me what you think - I am tempted to only modify the original style so that the thumbs are less spaced out, but keeping the titles...

S8

I really like that site mate and it is a very good read.

The layout is really good and it does not look too cramped. I like the new idea you have for the photography section.

I like nice clean and crisp:clap:
what did you use to design it was it a wordpress template

Cheers, that was my aim!

No templates on this one, just a lot of cursing from my end! Mainly designed in Expressions, I get on better with that software thean dreamweaver...

Yup, I agree. Very nice. Interesting photos running on the main page too.

I looked at the 4 galleries and much prefer the macro one where the thumbnails have a little description. The new overcrowded gallery is the worst of the bunch for me. I like the larger spaced out thumbnails - a handful of your best, rather than as many as you can fit on the page. I feel the macro ones are much easier to skim through and the new one doesn't sell you at all.

And on a side note...clicking on the images in the new gallery is a bit messed up with a scroll bar (I'm on OS X, firefox, safari, chrome & opera)

Cheers Markk :tu=humbs:

I know what you mean, I think I have crammed them in a little too much! And I am not to sure what happened with the scroll bars, they randomly appeared...:cuckoo:

That looks so nice, very original. One very minor point (Work has made me so picky!) You have a breadcrumb up until Music and then it doest appear on the later pages. Also the layout on the blog page is slightly different to the other pages (The breadcrumb is in the border on all other pages, and outside on the blog (Although I appreciate that you might not be able to change it).

However I do really like the design, it is nice, clear and professional

I never realised I had dropped it from the contact/about pages, cheers - I will add it in next time I am in front of my home computer. I will also look at bringing it within the margin on the Blog page...

Pleaed to here you like the design though

You will be pleased to know, that after much delay from my side, I have followed what you have said (I mainly agreed with it). And two of the galleries have been changed to follow suit, the other two will be done shortly.

I think they are at 800 x 600, but I am not to sure of what the resolution is - I use fastone to resize them. The software I use is Expressions for the coding, Lightbox for the galleries and simpleviewer for the history galleries...
