The main office of the school I work at have just had a phone call from our local newspaper saying they came across my shots on the school website of a Mountain Bike Stunt Show, and they would like to print them in their paper :) Quite pleased with myself :lol:

I trust they'll be paying you at full rate for the privilege........ (not!) Local papers are a pain in the b*m, they'll happily print your work (for free), refuse to pay you at all, may promise you a byline, but will almost always leave it out, or get it wrong, and will probably crop the bejaysus out of the picture. I got so fed up with my local rag doing awful things to my wedding photos that I eventually started billing them for use of copyright images (which of course they never paid for, but it stopped them from printing any more......)
 
:lol: I can understand it being very frustrating for pro's. However, as someone who only really took up photography as a hobby 2 weeks ago when I got my 1st dSLR, I am just happy for them to be seen :)
 
Good work and well done. I am only precious about these things when they forget the credit.

You can have the recognition AND get paid for it. If the photos are so good why will the paper not pay you?. "Just give him a phone call and tell him he will be famous and he'll pay us"LOL. "NO PAY NO PUBLICATION" look on my forehead does it say MUG.
