have a portable speedlight set up which I just thought I'd show anyone whose interested or considered doing something similar.. this is a Bowens fit adaptor on which I have a Canon 580EX II fitted with a Canon battery pack to ensure faster recycling and there is a Yongnuo RF-602RX wireless trigger which I fire with the Yongnuo RF-600TX. This requires me to set the flash manually which gives nice consistent results, but I also have the option of a Canon ST-E2 which gives me full ETTL (and a focus assist light).

Here it is with a Bessel softbox attached, it has an umbrella style assembly and I am amazed by how quick it is to pop up (less than 5 secs). It has an interior baffle and the whole this is very well made using quality products, think I paid about £45 for it at a trade show:

And I also have a couple of these Manfrotto umbrella brackets which are totally over-engineered for the job.. very quick to set up with a 430EX and again can be fired via a Yongnuo RF-602RX or the ST-E2 and I have a selection of shoot through and reflective umbrellas.
