Turns out that

a) Items are printed and Shipped from Germany.

b) Ready to ship in 48 hours is misleading. (Their words not mine.)

Given I need the canvas for Thursday and it's somewhere in Germany I am not holding my breath,m but have negotiated a 20% refund per day (per day not working day) that it is late.

well it arrived........

to say crap is an understatement........

ordered it wrapped around the canvas....... i genuinely have no idea as to what they have done....

I have told them in no uncertain terms as to my disappointment and given them the choice of a 100% refund or do it again properly and get it here by next Monday.

Utter *****. Why not just do it properly and order from Oxford Images?

That is a shambles :(

No, it's not that good....

What is most disappointing is they appear to be in englandshire from all the web site bumph but are in fact in Germany....

Erm, because I've never heard of them. This seemed a reasonable price and thought might give them a shot. they have 24 hours to agree to either refund 100% or do it properly and get it here by next Monday

otherwise I will be speaking to the very nice people at Lloyds TSB..

Lol @ the corners there Mike <runs away laughing> it looks like the 9 year old kids have been doing some work.

I agree with your suggestion but may just go for the Barclaycard loving and get someone else to do it for you.

Andy

you mean the 9 yr old blind kids from the local orphanage?

Shocking isn't it.

I have stated quite clearly in plain English what I expect from them..... I'll have £5 now that their perfect English suddenly disappears and goes to "Ich being Sie not das understangingblitzkriegdoppelgangerdonnerundblitzenfest"....

Fortunately, for me, I am still in regular contact with an exmember from here who resides in Das Vaterland, and is married to a loocal.... she is busy on the translation of my email of "displeasure" now, to avoid the "not being the speaking English" game.....

So all in all, not a pleasant experience from my-picture.co.uk

Feel free to take your chances, I am sure I was just unlucky (hmm aftter looking at reviews, not so sure!)

Terrible work tbh and I am really surprised at the apparent lack of quality control.

I would be a tad miffed if a friend produced something like that, but the fact it's a company and a German one to boot makes it all the harder to accept.

Andy

yes, I will confess, when I realised it was i Germany, I was a tad miffed, but also a tad relieved at the prospect of Teutonic Quality Control..........

and to add insult to injury, the horizon which was obviously 100% bang on nailed on the file I sent to them.... is slightly, ok slightly but noticable to me, on the p***

I can see a road trip to Cologne soon,.......

TP meet? Norfolk Mafia & Guests invade Germany.....??????

good grief, don slimbert could have done better than that after a litre of bacardi , jolly poor show, show the hun what for i say

Spit's are locked and loaded with clearance for a dawn takeoff....Back for tea and scones.

I believe Cologne is the area that is guilty of such crimes to photography despite their website suggesting otherwise.......

Cheers Tom,

I'll email the German's again asking for the full refund and if they want the canvas back they can arrange collection.

Will also check out the link tomorrow...... have the file I need on the work PC but bed is calling......

*** are the best. They aint the cheapest, but the quality will wow you.

funnily enough My-picture.co.uk are not responding to the emails, though their "address" has moved from Germany to Birmingham though the phone no remains slightly germanic....

Could be time to roll out the big germanic
battering ram aka Arkady........

Have given them until 8pm Monday to respond appropriately before I go after the CC bods to hoik back the costs///

this is where it gets serious. A few rough edges and a shabby attempt at folding the corners is one thing... but once they start ****ing around with your horizons.... they may as well have sent you a dog turd in a jiffy bag

exactamente..........

Spitfire's are cleared....locked and loaded and waiting.......

blimey that is not good at all.. I have used My Picture 4 times now and all 4 times the print has been superb and the canvas quality betters some services that charge twice as much.. I always choose the DIY option and build staple and stretch the canvas myself, my first attempt the edges came out way better than yours, that is shocking corner folding.

hope you get it sorted.

It looks like the canvas was printed....while it was on the frame...

hence you are not getting the wrap-around edges, I mean the canvas itself is wrapped around but the image isn't.....eh ??

yep i have no idea what they were up to..... I was expecting, as anyone else would, a canvas with bits of the photo on the sides..... honestly i haven't got a scooby as to what has happened on this.........

They are suddenly not being the english speaking though!!!!

Which is fine.. ;-)

here is their latest reply:

Good Morning,

thank you for your message.

After reviewing your order, we can confirm you have chosen the distorted-edge-option for your canvas, hence the edges of your canvas print, which means approximately one inch on each side of the canvas, appear blurred/distorted.
This is the common result of an automatically applied bleed technique during the printing process.
With this technique, the original motif is enlarged by replication of every last pixel on the edge of each side in order to avoid white canvas on the sides of the frame or what is even worse, having important parts of the motif cut off after mounting the canvas.
The blurred strip is the overlapping part and will not be visible on the front of your picture once you have mounted the canvas onto the frame.

If you have further questions, please do not hesitate contacting us!

just been on the phone and have sussed out germanic IVR.

Not surprisingly, they suddenly didn't happen to be the english speaking... despite their website all being in English... however I think they understood where I was coming from.... ;)

Barclaycard are on the case!:razz::razz:

quick update - they have refunded me in full.

Twice.
