Just because I'm happy and excited to finally get my hands on my first L lens - one that I've wanted for a few years now! My new 24-105 arrived today - I think my family is now complete (yeah right) with the 5D, 24-105, 50mm 1.4 and 70-300.

Very much looking forward to taking the new born out tomorrow for a few test shots!

Enjoy it Teddy, its a cracking lens! :)

But you know your glass selection will never be complete :)

It's a great lens for the 5D, great length and a great IQ too. I got mine with my 5D2 as a kit lens, I've since sold the body but I kept the lens. Have a lot of fun with it.

Quite a few people berrate the 24-105 but the one I had was fantastic..I only upgraded to the 24-70 for the extra stop and narrower DOF...

Enjoy !!

Fanks all :)

I'm going to Bath for the weekend so that'll be its first outing. I took it out for half an hour at lunch today but it was such dull weather there wasn't much to snap.

It feels so nice and solid though, zoom and focus feel wonderful. Bit surprised there isn't a zoom lock (my old sigma had one) but I guess Canon would say it shouldn't creep. Anyway, can't wait to get out there.

:D I know, but for now (definition of now tbc!) I'm satisfied. I've done what I suspect a lot of people do and gone from a 350D --> 40D --> 5D. Now at least my prime lens can shine and I can use some L glass as it was designed. I just hope mine's a good copy!
