Yes
We only have the one kid so dont have another to compare to but I dont think this is normal in any way for a 2 year old.

he lined these up himself and is his usual way of playing.

his other trick is putting things in the bin, and I mean Everything he gets his hands on including appointment sheets and banknotes if given the opertunity :bang:

if he spills water on the carpet he fetches a towel to clean it up, some doors MUST be closed and the stairgate into the kitchen Must be locked correctly.

OCD? I bloody hope not

I can't help but think that this type of behavior wouldn't happen if they still put lead in the paint on those little cars.

:D

My daughter, niece, nephew and plenty of other kids I've seen line their toys up like this. Many children are much more comfortable with things around them being 'just so' - but if you're worried, speak to a behaviour expert, I guess.

He'll grow outta it just get him a little brother or sister to play with then the fun will really begin :D
and if my kids were half that tidy it would be impressed, I would be even more impressed if they left home but thats another story :D

OCD as I understand it from someone who has this "issue" with a family member
is that they "do" repetative type behaviour but over and over and over ie
line the cars up but keep lining them up even when they are lined up if you see what I mean

he sounds quite normal to me.

You could always get him a couple kittens to 'line up'. There's a challenge.

my parents still have paint on the carpet on the stairs from where my little sister decided she needed to go to the loo in the middle of doing paint handprints on paper......

If you're worried I think you could always speak to your GP.

I also moderate on a parenting forum www.raisingkids.co.uk.
If you post your concern over there, I'm sure one of the parents there will be able to help :)

dont do cats in this house, the collies try to herd them and the german shepherd would probably want to play rough and tumble with them  :D

Hi Tafflade

My little lad does exactly the same (He is just turned 3), he will quite happily play with his cars for hours, lining them up neatly and then moving them all across the room and lining them up again.:cuckoo:
He seems to enjoy it and it does keep him quiet  so i should not worry too much

Thats all normal nout to worry about...

What you do need to worry about is when they decide to hide your car keys in the washing machine soap/softner tray and then you spend hours trying to find them, giving up, and resulting to using the emergency set only finding them at the next usage of the washing machine....

Apparently I used to get every single thing in the room and put it in a big pile in the middle :help:

(just read your post properly. loads of kids do this sort of thing don't worry  )

or when the sky card goes into the video, when the video disapears broken the card then goes into the dvd player.

dad then superglues the card into the skybox only for the box to break a couple of weeks later and make removal of the skycard impossible to put into the new box :bang::bang:

my camera lives on top of a very tall cupboard :)

I should have said in the first post, I'm not concerned about his behaviour more like amazed what goes on in his little head :naughty:

Just wait till he's the dreaded eleventeen, then look back at this. and don't forget to keep all embarrassing pics for his gf's.

Don't think there's anything to worry about, he grow into a "sl*b" (nom) quick enough.
