I've not used my camera for over two weeks, my PC is on 24/7 I am permanently logged into the forum yet I've been paying very little interest.
My mojo has gone and I don’t know how to get it back :(

I sometimes feel like that and what i do is have a browse through people flickr accounts, just like yours.

Aye, it happens, if it doesnt want to come back 'fraid there's nothing you can do about it...

Hopefully yours will...

.

I disagree with that. It's all about will power and maintaining creativity. If you're a nurse your skills don't just disappear. Same goes for any profession or hobby.

If on the other hand you're no longer enjoying it then that's something different entirely.

I understand what's going at the moment, my mojo has gone into hiding and it's hell because you just don't want to shoot anything. All I can say is try to think of something positive. It doesn't matter if it's photography related or not.

I'm hoping mine will return after I had knee surgery on Monday. It's still early doors, but as it disappeared not long after I damaged it, I'm hoping mojo will return later. I'm just mumbling here, but I guess once you realise your mojo's gone for a walk it's a start to seeing why and how you can get it back. Give it time and try not to worry about it too much. I'm sure a lot of peeps go through it at this time of year as well. A kind of SAD syndrome for togs!

Can I have first dibs on some cheap gear when you sell your camera stuff then?

Heppers I love to give you first dibs but anything above a fisher price 'my first camera' is far too complicated for you.
Know the old say, 'you can't teach an old dog new tricks' :D

Thanks Carol, I hope the surgery was sucessful and we know nothing short of brain surgery will fix heppers ;)

It's probably due to the weather, I'm not the arty type and I don't really do indoor photography.
I'm sure as soon as we get a few sunny days I will feel inspired.

Hiya hashcake,

Sorry to hear you have lost your mojo :'(

I kinda know the feeling ...... I haven't used my camera for nearly a week (and being new to photography I should be on top of the world having got my dslr just short of a month ago) ..... I should be enthusiastic.

As you said, it may just be the time of the year, low and little light, mist, fog, rain, misely snow etc, but look on the bright side ... the daffodils and spring flowers will be here soon, with hopefully new life, sunshine and longer days ... with more light :)

I have also been spending so much time here on TP (reading threads and viewing photos for inspiration) together with delving into as much literature on photography as possible (big time information overload for moi).

Perhaps it is just a way of your mojo taking time out to rejuvinate....... after all they say too much of a good thing can also be bad. Take your time, relax and switch off to the torment it is causing you. Your mojo will return ..... just remember to have your camer charged and ready for when it does :D

I have decided to go away with my son in our campervan for a few days next week (not the right time of year .... but heyho. My camera will be with us too, and I am just going to go with the flow :). Who knows ..... I may just be surprised.

What I am trying to say with all this blabber, is ... perhaps take yourself on a day out somewhere you really enjoy, or better still..... somewhere new that you have never been to before and explore. It may just open your lens (eyes) and inspire you again and hopefully your mojo will re-ignite :)

Keep us posted as to how you are doing, big

Dawn :)

Darran I'm sure M8 your mojo is actually doing it's finest Arnold Schwarzenegger impression and saying "I'll be back!"

You'll get it back.

I find one of the finest ways of getting back in to the groove again is to attend a TP meet or to actually organse one. Being with fellow photographers, and enjoying the social side as well, gives you a great boost. Before you know it you'll be snapping away.
