Bin the triangular "split ring" it came with and use soft rubber attachments. Simply a rubber band looped through itself, through the lug.
Although... rubber bands and UV... I'd back it up with a bit a high strength thread as a last resort catch when the band breaks.
There has to be an easy and cheap option.... that isn't gaffa tape!

That said. hand held video with an A6100, if you attempt to use the view finder, because of bright sun..... It's just a heavy breathing caller.
External mic, yea, yea, yea, as a beginner, the camera have massively leapt forward my potential output, but it also opens up a lot of "But you can make it even better" options... it's just that they are more expensive.

A small blob of clear silicone applied to the hole/split ring while in "strap in use" position might hold the rings still and eliminate their rattles. A couple of blobs of Blu Tack pressed over the junction would be a less permanent solution.

I'm glad you added a bit more to this than just a rubber band. I was getting anxiety sweats!
