Just wanted to share the news that one of my images has been picked to be part of the Ilford Gallery on their stand at Photokina in Cologne.

The images was picked as highly commended from their July Flickr competition and was then selected for Photokina.

The image with the most votes from the show wins a selection of Ilford paper, so if anyone is going please vote.

The winning image.

A stunning shot indeed, congratulations to you, but well deserved.

Not sure what could be "unreal" about a plane? The fuel vapor causing the haze behind it?

I'd just rather if the wings weren't clipped. But it's a cool image. Well done.

its my opinion if you cant see what i mean, never mind.

Im please for you but I agree the image looks heavily photoshoped, it almost looks chrome its so bright and shiny and knowing how grey and horrid it was at RAIT this year i assume heavy pp involved

Ummm...if he wanted a critique, he would have posted it in the Feedback and Critique section.

I love the shot....congratulations on being selected and good luck for the competition.

To answer all of those who believe this has been heavily Photoshoped, it is not the case. The shot was taken on the Thursday arrivals day which was blue sky and sunshine, the only one of the weekend. The only other work done was a small crop and B+W conversion. The image below was taken at the same time and gives a better idea of the day.

Excellent. You displayed this image on TP a while ago, right? I was blown away by it then.. beautiful PP

Love that! That's a shot by someone who understand how to use focal length effectively! You really get a sense of power from that.

Just out of curiosity (nothing to do with the photo)... why do the air intakes appear closed? Just because it's taxiing?
