Hello everyone,
My brother in law David (Slackbladder) recommended your forum to me. I hope you dont mind me joining your 52 group.

Here are my first two entries.

Hi Roy, welcome along, the more the merrrier i say.

Stop, really likiing this, i think yours is the first crossing i have seen on this theme. the colours of the green and yellow are really vibrant and work well with the dof you have created.

Isolated, again a good idea for the theme, personally i like the vignette on this type of shot, i think you will find peoples opinions split on vignettes. im not sure if the slight shadow works for me behind. did you use a reflector to dim it a bit? id either try for no shadow or emphasize it in the shot.

anyway good luck with the challenge.

 Hi Roy and welcome to the 52. I hope you get some fun out of it.

That shot for "stop" brings back memories for me. Something typically German about it, even before I read the text.
Good use of colours and I like the amount of DoF. Just enough detail in the background to keep it visible but the focal point is still very clear.
If I was to change anything, it would be to increase the saturation in the reds, just to make the stop light in the background pop out more.

Isolation is a really clever interpretation of the theme.
The limited colour palette works well and the vignette and shadow get a  from me. I like the spotlight effect - although I suspect that they may not be to everybody's taste.
Only niggle is the white plastic piece (no idea what the proper name for it is) is getting slightly lost against the white background. That's always going to be a tricky one to get right, but maybe a bit more playing around with the lighting would have helped.

Hi Roy, welcome to the 52's. I'm gonna agree with both comments. Stop works great and is very clear. Strong colours too. Isolation I really do like, apart from the colour of the HDD power connector plug (I can't remember it's proper name), which as Sarah said is blending into the background a bit.
