Sincere thanks to the members who took part in my recent topic on gay weddings, particularly those who fully understood my motivation for the post.
Regrettably, the post was closed before I was able to reply to many points.
I think it was by and large, a constructive debate, and if it helps just one person to understand another's point of view, then it will have been worthwhile.

Don't recall any pics,..it was closed as it was deemed to be drifting too far off the original topic.
You can still read it through it though...look down the list :thumbs:

I think the way off topic, hot potato threads are good for this place. It helps the community feel if we all get to know each other better. I'd have liked to see it stay for longer but you have to see that from the point of veiw of the mods, it takes a lot of looking after to make sure us kiddies aren't tearing each others hair out and that's not why they give their free time. :)

That is the most stunning display of sick-making hypocrasy I have seen in a very long time. You're happy for debate - as long as it is on your terms and you demand all other discussion be closed down :shake:

The first decent debate on TPF, ever, and the PC brigade wins. A sad day indeed.

In fairness to dp, I did raise just that point and mentioned (albeit a little less forcefully) that it really needs to be either or. He did make a choice on one side, or at least that's how I read it.

Nor did I see anything in DF's post that suggested he was the cause of it's closure. I will go and check now --------> :)

Whoa.........I closed the thread and i'm going to move this one to a more suitable area.

The original thread had ventured away from any form of photographic interest and had been dragged down to a level i considered to be unacceptable by pointless and petty posts that added nothing to the thread.

John........I'm shocked m8, you've known me a long time.....PC brigade I am NOT. :(

This thread also has NO photographic basis so it's going on a journey to Out Of Focus where it can be discussed as intended.

Whooaaa! I never intended to suggest that YOU were PC. WOW! That's quite something.

I was suggesting that the thread was closed BECAUSE of the PC brigade, not by them.

Anyway, you and I are probably in the same camp. Can I use that word? ;)
 
People dont have to be ok with homosexuality-its often just as offensive if a straight couple are being overly familiar in the streets-reasonably constraints are a better thing in my honest opinion-though as to shooting a gay wedding. Well their money is as good as anyones.

My entire interest in the thread is the quality of material posted on the forum. In reality, I couldn't give a monkey's chuff if the world came to a grinding halt as long as it doesn't impact on my life. ;) I have far too many problems of my own to deal with and that prevents me from caring if a person can or can't accept other people on a professional level and take pictures.

On a business level I usually have one thing in mind........Show me the money !!!!

Now you lot play together nicely and leave me out of it please.......I need my beauty sleep.......have you lot seen the frown lines you've given me :bat:

Well I thought it was a lively debate so thank you for starting it. I tried to be objective with my replies but unfortunately some people got out of hand.

I still totally fail to understand how a gay pride march is going to help with the cause of making some people then think that it is morally acceptable behaviour to have a same sex relationship though.

But then I also dont understand at work why we have a "woman of the year" award, yet we have no "man of the year". Its a strange world thats for sure.

Our time on planet earth is short so I wish everyone well regardless of sexuality, faith, colour or even type of camera you have ;)

Starting it again with another title is simply asking to stir up this can of worms all over again.
